Tame...

Pretty boring past few days, really. Had some fun today doing HazMat with LT Pomodoro, and I'm happy to say I'm off the radar (with any luck), as I was finally able to give them my EMT card, which was actually a replacement... Ya know, the replacement they wouldn't give me because I was due to re-cert. Whatever... More HazMat tomorrow.

Hump Day

Pretty tame today... Couple lectures this AM, and then scenarios this afternoon. Tomorrow promises more of the same. My kingdom for an EMT Card!

My kingdom to get off this radar...

Got tuned up today for leaving my radio unattended, allowing it to get "stolen"... It was initially said that it would be forwarded to Pro Standards, but I think I'm just looking at a demerit, thankfully. Great lecture this afternoon from Paramedic Jay, lawyer and blogger extraordinare... Really good stuff on medical/legal. Endocrine and burns tomorrow morning before an afternoon of pnt. care scenarios.

Monday #5

Learned about Autism and then about Special Event coverage with Capt. Haley. Both pretty interesting. We also finally got word that our uniforms are finally ready to be picked up.

Got my partner shanked today

"Don't ever take your fucking eyes off me!" was the only thing I heard after LFTO Clapp snapped his pocket knife open and stabbed my partner in the neck. We did scenarios with radios today, and it was a lot of fun... the afternoon FLEW by. The class is starting to break though... people are having a hard time with "rogering" out of stuff, but we'll see how that goes. I'm really happy its finally the weekend... Should be interesting to be on this side of the fence if/when the Pats win it all.

First (and hopefully last) Three-Fer

The sad thing is, I don't remember a damn thing about Friday. Yesterday we had a lot of fun doing a blood pressure and File of Life clinic at a local elderly high rise... really a good time. Today we were visited by the crew at Peer Support--good stuff... Really nice to know that we have all these services available. I think that's all...

Another two-fer

Yesterday wrapped up ITLS and today we did Ob/Gyn/GU and some DV stuff... Pretty interesteding stuff. LFTO Tutthill spent the morning on Ob/Gyn and then Paramedic Dan White spent most of the afternoon talking about Domestic Violence, the newly reborn "Gold Unit", and Coital Injuries--I honestly thought the whole thing was a gag, but it was pretty informative. We also met the King of Trauma, Dr. Hirsch, Director of Trauma Surgery at BMC. We also added "Department Pager" to the list of things to always have and to never loose. The best news of the day being that as of 1600hrs tommorrow, we are 1/4 of the way thru the didactic portion of Recruit Training.
